Testing LED technology, saving energy, and securing the appropriate lighting parameters for road traffic on the D1 Motorway were the reason for mounting the LED-SIII LED Street SII of LED-SOLAR in front of the east Bormark tunnel portal.
More than 60% of energy savings in this installation is a convincing proof of the need for conventional light technology to be replaced by LEDs.
LED-SOLAR has supplied standard street luminaires for street lighting and traffic corridors, but the target was to use an optical system to ensure maximum uniformity of distributed light flux.
Designers in calculations took into account the prescribed parameters of the communication class and the frequency of traffic on this highway as well as the lighting requirements for the use of the CCTV system, which monitor the traffic situation on the way to and from the tunnel.
The uniformity and intensity of lighting was measured by qualified experts. Photo documentation suggests that the target has been fulfilled
