The lighting of the B\u0159eclav railway station area became the first project in the Czech Republic in which LED-SOLAR, s.r.o. railway luminaires were used. Similarly, as it is customary in \u017deleznice Slovenskej republiky, a.s., the use of the lighting system in railway practice requires deployment in trial operation. The test operation started after agreement with the Railway Infrastructure Administration, state organisation (hereinafter S\u017dDC)<\/a>. S\u017dDC is responsible for the transport infrastructure of the Czech Railways\u00a0<\/a>\u00a0and generally for the quality of the operating conditions of the railways. For LED-SOLAR, s.r.o. it is a great honour that the Czech railway administrator has shown interest in the operation of a modern railway lighting system.<\/p>\n

The interest of the Railway Infrastructure Administration experts in the use of this modern railway lighting system had several reasons. The first and decisive reason was the excellent references from the use of this progressive lighting technology in the environment of Slovak railways. Last but not least, there is also the ambition to use the technical features of modern LED lighting technology. The LED-SOLAR railway luminaires reflect the strict requirements of railway lighting right in their design basis. The demanding technical environment of traction, accidental events, stray currents test the technical and constructional qualities of each installed device.<\/p>\n

Railway station area lighting - development<\/h3>\n

The development of luminaires for the lighting of the station area has been a long time in the making. For the designers, technical consultations and knowledge of railway operating staff were indispensable. Close and patient cooperation with erudite experts of the Slovak Railways\u00a0<\/a> and Railway Research and Development Institute<\/a>\u00a0 has borne fruit. The first pilot LED Trail railway luminaires were very quickly replaced by a highly reliable model range for railway area lighting under the trade name LED Rail. As it is a comprehensive lighting system, it incorporates several types of luminaires for different purposes.<\/p>\n

Complex lighting system<\/h3>\n

LED Rail Line luminaires are used for basic illumination of the railway area from lighting towers. These are complemented by LED Rail Spot directional luminaires. Single-sided platforms are illuminated by LED Rail Platform S luminaires. LED Rail Platform T models are used to illuminate double-sided platforms. Track platforms are illuminated from separate masts by LED Rail II luminaires. The lighting of the railway area is tested in the premises of the railway station B\u0159eclav<\/a>,\u00a0where the LED-SOLAR railway luminaires designed for railway masts and lighting towers are verified. Models of luminaires for platform lighting are placed in the premises of the Hru\u0161ky railway station.<\/p>\n

The control measurements and operational tests were excellent and the Czech railwaymen have the opportunity to use new, modern and highly efficient lighting technology.<\/p>\n

The task of the solution for the lighting of the B\u0159eclav railway station area was to replace the original conventional luminaires for platform and railway area illumination from railway columns and lighting towers with suitable LED luminaire models, while complying with the standard for railway area illumination. It is the new European lighting standards that bring more intensity, more uniformity of illumination and at the same time greater requirements for the energy provision of lighting systems to the lighting of the railway station area.<\/p>\n
