Observing the picturesque peaks of the High Tatras from the observation tower built on a hill above Nov\u00fd \u0160trbsk\u00e9 pleso is a truly fantastic experience. With this in mind, the new owners approached the dilapidated monumental building, which became a national cultural monument in 1963. They transformed the investor's enthusiasm into an extensive reconstruction that gave the building a second life and saved this architectural gem for future generations.<\/p>\n
The history of the observation tower began in 1905, when Karol M\u00f3ry had the first wooden building built on this site. In 1935, Karol M\u00f3ry's nephew J\u00e1n rebuilt the original wooden observation tower into a brick octagonal tower, in which he placed a caf\u00e9.<\/p>\n
The place became a popular attraction in the Tatras, visited by hundreds of tourists.<\/p>\n
A generous reconstruction according to the period drawings of J\u00e1n M\u00f3ry brought, in addition to repairs to the original tower, the modernization of the extension \u2013 the observation terrace, apartments and social facilities.<\/p>\n
The owners of the observation deck decided to highlight the attractiveness of the exceptional building at night with suitable lighting. They entrusted this task to the company LED-SOLAR, s.r.o., with which they had already successfully cooperated in previous investment projects.<\/p>\n
After consulting with the architects, the designers and constructors of LED-SOLAR designed a facade lighting system and specially manufactured architectural luminaires for this order, which highlight the interesting geometry of the building at night. In terms of the construction of the lighting fixtures, it was necessary to deal with extreme weather conditions, dominated by wind, rain, ice and frost.<\/p>\n
The second task consisted of producing backlit metal signs placed on the facade of the tower and the apartment part, which were conceived as replicas of the original signs painted on the walls of the lookout.<\/p>\n
The demanding task was completed and this is confirmed by the trouble-free operation of the external lighting system.<\/p>\n
