The lighting of the monuments of the village of Belince and its modernization using LED lamps was carried out with the participation of the company LED-SOLAR, s.r.o. Prešov. LED luminaires in public lighting are already a standard today. However, their use for the illumination of cultural and historical monuments requires a certain skill of the implementers.

The village was first mentioned in a document from 1318 under the name Bullad as a property of the Nitra bishopric. Unfortunately, despite its long history, the ancient buildings have not survived. In 1835, almost all of Belince was destroyed by a great fire. Today, the chapel of the Virgin Mary of the Seven Sorrows from the 19th century is one of the landmarks of the village. The ground plan of the building is rectangular with a polygonal cap. The chapel is vaulted. The facades were plain, the frontage topped with a tympanum. Another important building in the village is the church of St. Cyril and Methodius. It is a new building from 1968, built by the Preselian parish priest Anton Štítny.

Lighting of monuments - luminaires

The intention of the municipal council was to bring closer and beautify the landmarks of the village for its inhabitants and all those who pass through the village in day and night time.  The use of modern lighting technology is commonplace nowadays. The representatives of the municipal authority decided to invite a well-known Prešov manufacturer of LED lamps to a public tender for the lighting of the monuments of the municipality. The quality and price of the implementation were decisive, for which a simple and effective solution was chosen. The illumination of the facade of the Church of St. Cyril and Methodius is solved by two directional floodlights of the LED Flood SII series, which are placed on the public lighting poles in front of the facade of the building. Sometimes less really is more and you can really see how beautifully the façade of the church stands out from the dark background at night time.
