Over several years, Medzany has been gradually, but all the more consistently, building new LED public lighting in the village. The original public lighting system contained luminaires that became morally and technically obsolete over time. The conventional lighting technology had to be replaced by something newer, better quality and, above all, more economical.
Representatives of the municipality of Medzany were approached by the offer of the sales representatives of LED-SOLAR, s.r.o. in the form of LED luminaires designed for the illumination of traffic roads, intersections, roads and sidewalks or public spaces. The proven luminaires for LED public lighting from the LED Street SII model series have an excellent reputation. Tens of thousands of them have been produced so far for public lighting in cities and towns at home and abroad. Complaints about this type range of luminaires are indeed minimal.

The LED luminaires of the LED Street SII group stand out due to their robust construction. The luminaire body made of aluminium alloy with numerous ribs allows efficient cooling of the LED modules. This significantly extends the lifetime of the LED luminaire. The entire public lighting system consisting of LED Street SII luminaires is characterized by high operational reliability.The quality of LED Street SII luminaire is also based on the use of high-end components from renowned world manufacturers. LEDs of the American manufacturer CREEare implemented on high quality aluminium joints. The optical system of the luminaire is provided by the use of products of the Finnish company LEDiL, which represents the world leader in the production of optical systems for LED luminaires. Electronic ballasts of global brands Tridonic or Mean Wellare installed in the LED Street SII luminaires according to the circumstances or customer requirements.

Benefits

Overall, the village's new LED public lighting has brought several significant benefits. These were reflected in a considerable saving of electricity consumption, which exceeded 50%. The new LED luminaires also mean a reduction in overall annual maintenance costs. Thanks to the installation of 23 W luminaires on each power distribution column, the new LED lighting system has ensured greater uniformity and intensity of illumination of the illuminated areas. Ultimately, this means greater safety of movement for all road users on the municipal roads. In terms of crime prevention, the new LED public lighting has resulted in increased security for the property and citizens of Medzany.
